Oven glove care

Washing instructions

You can wash your gloves in any domestic or commercial laundry machine. The best programme is Cotton 40°C.

Use only a normal brand of domestic grade detergent, liquid or powder.

If the gloves have heavy grease contamination, let them soak for several hours in soapy water.

You can also dry clean our gloves.

Do not under any circumstances use bleach to clean any of our gloves.

Drying

To dry the gloves after washing you can cool tumble dry or dry naturally.  Natural drying preserves the life of the gloves.

If you use a tumble dryer, the outer glove will appear dry from the machine but the inner may still hold moisture. If used when damp, the moisture will act as a fast track for the heat to rapidly penetrate the glove - therefore make sure the gloves are completely dry before use.

Our Tip. While the glove is still slightly damp pull it onto your hand and mould the fabric to give the best fit for your hands. Carefully remove by gently pulling from the tips of the fingers and then allow to dry naturally.

General care of oven gloves

The most important consideration is to prevent grease to build up on the gloves, as this can cause localised hot spots in the gloves.  If this happens, you only need to put them in the washing machine.

The heat protection is not reduced by washing (as may happen with conventional oven gloves), however over the course of many washes / drying cycles the material will abraid, reducing the heat protection.  This may start to become noticeable after 40+ wash cycles, which equates to many years in normal use.
